Position Summary

The Leader of Aircraft Integration Center is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive modifications, upgrades, maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations of our special mission aircraft. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency are met while managing a team of skilled professionals. The leader will drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulatory bodies, with a specific focus on ISR systems integration.

Role and Responsibilities

Leadership and Management :

  • Lead and manage the Aircraft Integration Center team, including, installers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Operational Oversight :

  • Oversee all aspects of special mission aircraft integration, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements to include FAA and EASA.
  • ISR Systems Integration :

  • Lead the integration of ISR systems, including sensors, communication equipment, and data processing units, into various aircraft platforms.
  • Ensure seamless integration of ISR capabilities to meet mission requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Airborne Asset Adaptation (A3) and Metrea Aerospace Design (MSAD), and Metrea Special Mission Aircraft (MSA) organizations to design and implement customized ISR solutions.
  • Airworthiness and Certification :

  • Ensure all aircraft modifications and integrations meet airworthiness standards.
  • Oversee the certification process, including obtaining necessary airworthiness certificates from regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, EASA).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airworthiness regulations and ensure compliance throughout the MRO and aircraft Integration process.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance :

  • Implement and maintain all necessary quality assurance standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain a safety management system.
  • Process Improvement :

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field. Ten years of experience in site / program management can be substituted in leu of degree.
  • Previous experience managing a aircraft Integration and / or Modification Center.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Meet and maintain eligibility requirements as an Accountable Manager for a certified FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft upgrades, modifications, maintenance, repair, and overhaul, of which, at least 5 years must have had a focus on ISR systems.
  • Proven leadership experience in an aircraft modification, upgrade, MRO environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements – FAA essential, EASA Highly Desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 a.m. to 6 : 00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

    Travel

    Occasional travel required to coordinate with Metrea CUs.
