Position Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Technical Records Auditor is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and completeness of aircraft maintenance records. This role involves auditing maintenance documentation, verifying compliance with aviation regulatory standards, and ensuring proper record-keeping in accordance with company policy and procedures. The auditor will work closely with the maintenance teams CONUS and OCONUS (virtually) to address discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and improve record-keeping processes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of aircraft maintenance records to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, etc.) and company standards.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of records, including maintenance logs, service bulletins, work orders, and component history.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or gaps in documentation and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve them.
- Ensure all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and modifications, are accurately documented and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in aviation regulations and standards and ensure the organization’s records reflect these updates.
- Oversee the timely entry and update of maintenance records in the appropriate systems (electronic and paper-based).
- Continuously update and utilize an electronic, online maintenance tracking mechanism (currently utilizing Veryon and transitioning to AMOS) to allow for efficient maintenance planning, time limit item tracking, aircraft time and cycle tracking.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of audit results, corrective actions taken, and any follow-up required.
- Prepare audit reports for management, highlighting discrepancies, trends, and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and quality control teams to improve overall documentation practices.
- Read and understand Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, and Structural Repair Manuals.
- Completes all administratively required forms and documents on schedule.
- Assist in training personnel on proper documentation practices and regulatory compliance as related to aircraft maintenance.
