We are seeking a forward-thinking, curious, and innovative Cardiovascular Scientist or Senior Scientist to join a pioneering team at the forefront of condensate-focused drug discovery. This role requires deep expertise in cardiovascular biology, cell and molecular biology, and assay optimization for cardiovascular drug discovery. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance discovery programs that have the potential to transform patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute pharmacological assays to support innovative drug discovery programs.
- Independently design, optimize, and validate cell-based assays for cardiovascular research.
- Lead scientific subject areas within the team, serving as a key contributor and thought leader.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure biological relevance of assays and alignment with program goals.
- Mentor and inspire team members, fostering a culture of learning and scientific excellence.
- Contribute to scientific visibility through project deliverables, internal presentations, and external conference participation or publications.
- Participate in additional initiatives and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in cardiovascular biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Strong background in cardiovascular physiology and its applications.
- At least 2 years of relevant postdoctoral experience with a proven track record of scientific achievement.
- Strong publication record demonstrating impactful contributions to the field.
- Expertise in designing and implementing cell-based assays for drug discovery.
- Hands-on experience with pharmacological assays for cardiomyocytes, including calcium flux, contractility, and/or electrophysiology techniques.
- Proficiency in working with 2D and 3D cardiac model systems.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR, CRISPR, siRNA, viral vectors, and transcription analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple objectives and deliver on timelines.
- Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment while remaining solution-oriented and organized.
- Fluent communication skills in English for effective collaboration within a multicultural team.
Additional Preferred Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
- Expertise in assay analysis, including evaluating compound potency and dynamic response ranges.
- Experience developing in vivo pharmacological assays using animal models.
- Proficiency in optimizing and validating robotic-based assays for high-throughput screening, particularly with high-content imaging technologies.
- Strong background in in vitro assay development, execution, and high-content screening, including cellular imaging techniques.
