Senior Director, Business Development
Metric Bio have partnered with a fast growing small/midsize full-service CRO who are looking to strengthen their US Commercial team.
The Senior Director, Business Development will work closely with the executive leadership team to help identify new client and project opportunities across the US and then in collaboration with the internal budgets & proposals team help secure new projects for the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new client and project opportunities aligned with the company’s value proposition.
- Conduct research to generate new leads and proactively reach out to potential clients.
- Work with client cluster/account leaders to expand business with existing clients and uncover new service opportunities.
- Achieve assigned sales targets by effectively promoting services and capabilities.
- Lead efforts in identifying, preparing for, and participating in targeted conferences and trade shows to enhance market presence.
- Respond in a timely and professional manner to client inquiries and requests.
- Develop and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with new and existing clients by gaining an in-depth understanding of their needs and industry landscape.
- Effectively present and discuss company capabilities to prospective and existing clients.
- Maintain strong technical and functional knowledge of all service offerings to identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Ensure that proposed solutions, pricing strategies, and resources align with customer needs.
- Collaborate with contract, proposal, and functional teams to develop tailored requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Work with internal teams to prepare and deliver project-specific content for bid defense presentations.
- Drive completion of contractual documents in coordination with contracts and proposals teams.
- Partner with senior commercial leaders to enhance the business development function by:
- Defining and implementing key sales processes, procedures, and templates.
- Selecting and rolling out sales systems and market intelligence tools.
- Developing improved sales materials, contract templates, and bid defense collateral.
- Implementing and maintaining sales operational metrics for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science, business, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in business development or sales within the clinical research industry, specifically working for a Clinical Research Organization (CRO).
- Previous experience selling Biometrics services to Pharma & Biotech
- Strong industry reputation with an extensive network of client contacts.
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to interact successfully at all organizational levels and with client representatives.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
Salary : $150,000 - $225,000
