BMS Design Engineer
Location: NYC Metro / Long Island
A leading Building Automation provider is hiring a BMS Design Engineer to join its growing team in the NYC Metro and Long Island area. This role focuses on designing digital control systems for commercial HVAC and low-voltage building systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer complete building automation systems, including hardware and network layouts
- Create riser diagrams, I/O summaries, sequence of operations, and wiring schematics
- Select control devices, transducers, and components needed for integration
- Interpret mechanical/electrical plans and translate them into control design packages
- Collaborate with sales engineers, project managers, and technicians throughout the project lifecycle
- Revise drawings and produce as-built documentation after project completion
- Attend meetings with clients and consulting engineers to review design scope
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- 3 years of experience designing HVAC or building automation control systems
- Proficient in reading construction documents and MEP drawings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software
- Experience with DDC systems; Schneider Electric or Andover Controls is a plus
