Metric Geo are working with a top-tier engineering firm on an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role will involve leading the design of high-voltage (765kV EHV) substations and working on innovative projects in the energy sector. About the Role:
In this position, you'll be responsible for the design and delivery of EHV substation projects. You'll lead a team, provide technical guidance, and ensure that the projects are delivered to the highest standards. You'll also have the chance to collaborate directly with clients and work in a hybrid environment, with three days in the office and two days working remotely.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the design of EHV substations, including both physical and protection & control design.
- Managing project budgets and schedules for multiple substation projects.
- Ensuring all work meets engineering standards and company policies.
- Providing technical direction and mentoring junior engineers.
- Conducting complex engineering calculations and making equipment/material recommendations.
- Preparing key engineering deliverables such as one-lines, connection diagrams, and equipment layouts.
- Coordinating with the project team and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 8 years of experience in designing EHV substations (500kV – 765kV experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, with experience in physical and P&C design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with open-air and GIS substations, including various bus configurations.
- Experience in quality assurance and maintaining design standards.
