We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Substation Engineer to support and lead engineering activities for substation and transmission projects. This senior-level role involves overseeing the design, review, and maintenance of physical substations and switchyards , collaborating with internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Ideal candidates will have a strong engineering background, extensive hands-on experience, and a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of substation engineering, including structural analysis, grounding design, and AC / DC calculations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and participate in capital project engineering activities, including developing RFPs, and selecting / managing third-party vendors and contractors.
- Structural analysis, grounding design, and AC / DC calculations.
- Review and recommend detailed engineering bid packages for approval.
- Develop, maintain, and manage engineering standards in collaboration with operations, planning, and project management teams.
- Assist in developing equipment ratings and guidelines to ensure proper operation and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical guidance for ongoing new projects, and construction activities.
- Contribute to annual budget planning and maintain accurate contract records.
- Manage engineering databases and a drawing management file system.
