Job Description
Metrics LLC is seeking a skilled Contract Specialist as we compete for a contract to support the U.S. Air Force. This contract aims to provide comprehensive contracting support services for the full lifecycle of acquisition—including pre-award and post-award activities—for services, supplies, and minor construction. As a Specialist, you will play a key role in assisting the Contracting Officers with the development and administration of acquisition strategies, solicitation documents, contract modifications, and closeouts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), be detail-oriented, and demonstrate exceptional communication and analytical skills. This is a remote position, but occasional in-person meetings at DMAFB may be required.
Minimum requirements include 6 years of contracting experience within a Federal Government agency, with at least 2 years at a base-level support environment, and a bachelor’s degree in any field. A DAWIA or FAC-C Contracting Professional certification (or equivalent) is also required.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of approved acquisition strategies for services, supplies, and construction requirements.
- Support the preparation of complete and accurate file documentation for both competitive and noncompetitive procurements.
- Provide research, analysis, and recommendations to assist Contracting Officers in resolving contractual issues.
- Draft electronic synopsis announcements and prepare task orders, solicitations, modifications, and amendments for CO review and issuance.
- Participate in source selection activities, including preparation of evaluation criteria and tracking of pre-award milestones.
- Support the evaluation of proposals in accordance with FAR Part 15 and applicable DoD and Air Force guidance.
- Assist in drafting briefings, agency reports, and legal documents in response to protests or claims.
- Maintain and update contract documentation.
- Coordinate with DFAS and other agencies to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions, including obligation and de-obligation of funds.
- Minimum of 6 years of contracting experience within a Federal Government agency.
- At least 2 years of base-level support experience purchasing commercial supplies, services, and minor construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- DAWIA Contracting Professional or FAC-C Professional certification (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of the FAR, DFARS, and other applicable acquisition regulations.
- Proficient in contract writing systems (e.g., CON-IT) and Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive research and analysis of technical and cost/pricing data.
- Experience supporting Department of the Air Force contracting functions.
- Experience in construction contracting.
- Familiarity with procurement systems such as PIEE, WAWF, CPARS, and GSA eBuy.
- Experience working with surveillance and performance monitoring tools and systems.
