Metrics Recruitment is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer for an early stage startup that is building the world’s first general purpose code optimizer for Python. It automatically improves the performance of Python code by improving the algorithms and logic while guaranteeing the correctness of the newly generated code.
Responsibilities
Ship and own a new dashboard that enables users to see value and act on optimizations (in the first month).
Build and iterate on all user-facing surfaces of the product : the web app, GitHub app, IDE extensions, etc.
Gather and implement feedback from users of the GitHub app.
Establish automation around deployment and code quality to speed up iteration cycles.
Qualifications :
Quick Learner : Can pick up new tools, frameworks, or libraries the same day by learning through doing; not afraid to use AI tools to get started on anything.
Customer-Obsessed : Builds solutions by testing them with actual users and letting their reactions guide what’s next; frequently “touches grass.”
Curious : Eager to learn new things, especially frameworks or libraries.
Hacker Mentality : Understands when to take on technical debt for a quick implementation versus when to polish; can “build for the demo” or “build one to throw away”; competitive programming or math olympiad experience is a major plus.
Proven Track Record : Has experience quickly shipping whole systems and iterating on real web products used and loved by real users.
Action-Oriented : Comfortable (and excited!) about taking ideas from inception to live deployment in a short amount of time
