Shift: Monday-Friday (8:30am-5pm)
Hourly Rate: $21.50
What You Will Do:
As a Forklift Operator you will use industrial vehicles to move pallets and heavy items from one place to another with a forklift or a hand truck. A Forklift Operator helps the flow of product throughout the business, whether it’s stacking in a warehouse, loading a shipping container, outbound truck, or anything else that requires pallets/loads to be moved from point to point.

- Ability to operate forklift expertly.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrated by leading by example.
- Ability to load and unload materials of transport vehicles.
- Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
- Understanding machine processes, paperwork systems, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated problem solving, and priority management capabilities.
- Proactivity, creativity, and initiative for continuous improvement to the business processes.
- Ability to organize in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Enjoy working in a team environment.

What it's like at Metrie
- Safety. Your safety is important to us. We want you to leave the day, the same way you came in. Continuous training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence. Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
- Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and mobile carts.
- Activity. Some activities may require operating machinery, constant walking, repetitive lifting, and using a handheld scanner.
- Temperature. Warehouse in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Noise level. Can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
- Dress code. Relaxed, with a few requirements regarding PPE. Metrie provides safety shoes, high visibility shirts or vests, eye protection and gloves.
