What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and ship a variety of building materials, including mouldings and doors
• Read and understand pick lists and paperwork
• Lift, push, and pull material bundles that weigh up to 50 lbs, higher at times with a buddy system.
• Operate various types of machinery as required, including an electric tugger and trailer
• Ensure all work is performed safely and timely
• Product binning, replenishment and put away as needed
• Collaborate with the external warehouse team to fulfill operational tasks, such as order retrieval and quality control.
• Process all transactions in SAP in accordance with established procedures, utilizing the software application to manage outbound documentation at the conclusion of the workday.
• Communicate effectively with the dedicated in-house logistics team.
• Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment, adapt to the evolving needs of Metrie and US Pro channel and provide support in response to fluctuating workloads.
• Represent Metrie’s interests professionally when engaging with customers and suppliers.
• Respond to inquiries and requests from the Procurement team regarding inbound product deliveries.
• Perform updates in SAP as required.
• Address various SAP requirements on an exception basis.
• Manage all audits received from Metrie’s customers, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate Operations Manager for issue resolution.
• Schedule appointments with suppliers for deliveries from all Warehouse Distribution Centers.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and participate in the inventory counting process as outlined by policy and procedure, executing the goods return process for the branch.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of parts and materials, ensuring alignment with project and service demands, and retain necessary documentation for follow-up and proof of delivery and inventory.

What it's like at Metrie

• Safety. Your safety is important to us. We want you to leave the day, the same way you came in. Continuous training with all warehouse personnel for both Safety and Operational excellence. Measure critical safety metrics on a monthly basis, identify potential issues and take appropriate actions.
• Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, forklifts, and mobile carts.
• Activity. Some activities may require operating machinery, constant walking, repetitive lifting, and using a handheld scanner.
• Temperature. Warehouse in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Noise level. Can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
• Dress code. Relaxed, with a few requirements regarding PPE. Metrie provides safety shoes, high visibility shirts or vests, eye protection and gloves.
