Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to oversee and optimize the revenue cycle and billing processes for our NEMT services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare billing, medical billing, accounts receivable management, and payer reimbursement processes. This position is key to ensuring timely and accurate billing while maximizing revenue for the organization.

Duties:
- Manage the Entire Revenue Cycle: Oversee all aspects of billing, collections, claims submission, and payer reimbursements for NEMT services.
- Optimize Billing Processes: Ensure accuracy and compliance in the preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to insurance providers, Medicare/Medicaid, and private payers.
- Develop and Maintain SOPs: Create, update, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation to support efficient and compliant billing operations.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable: Track outstanding balances, manage aged receivables, and implement strategies to reduce days in accounts receivable (AR).
- Analyze Revenue Trends: Prepare reports on billing performance, revenue metrics, and other key performance indicators, and identify areas for process improvement.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train billing staff to maintain a high-performing, efficient billing department.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay current with healthcare regulations and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local billing requirements.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Work closely with operations, dispatch, and client services teams to ensure seamless coordination between service delivery and billing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management in healthcare, preferably in NEMT setting.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing and coding regulations, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Proficiency in using revenue cycle management systems, billing software, and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of compliance regulations and fraud prevention in healthcare billing
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
