They are currently seeking a Bridge Foreman to oversee field crews and subcontractors on complex bridge construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for a motivated professional looking to drive excellence and safety in heavy civil construction.
Position Overview:
The Bridge Foreman is responsible for coordinating daily operations on-site, maintaining high productivity, and ensuring safe and efficient execution of all work. With strong technical knowledge of bridge building and concrete work, the Foreman will be actively involved in both leadership and labor tasks, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all bridge construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Manage field crew and subcontractors effectively, ensuring proper use of tools and adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead by example in prioritizing safety, educating the crew, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Plan labor and equipment needs based on project scope and budget, adjusting crew size and scheduling proactively.
- Coordinate material orders and deliveries to prevent delays and ensure readiness.
- Conduct weekly planning meetings to organize workflow, prevent task overlap, and optimize productivity.
- Interpret and implement contract drawings and specifications to ensure structural accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites, completing each task fully before transitioning to the next.
- Track daily progress, manage extra work documentation, and submit timely reports including timecards and daily diaries.
- Monitor the condition of company tools, vehicles, and rental equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Identify safety hazards such as fall risks and excavation concerns, taking prompt corrective action.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Coordinate closely with other foremen, team members, and contractors to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Foreman, with a strong background in bridge construction.
- Expertise in structural concrete, including forming, pouring, and finishing.
- Proven experience managing crews of 4 or more team members on-site.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and schedules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to delegate, instruct, and motivate crews effectively.
- In-depth understanding of job-site safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Accurate and timely record-keeping and reporting experience.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to adapt and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
