Position Summary
The Clinical Manager, ER oversees clinical operations in the Emergency Department (ED) under the direction of the Program Director. This role is responsible for coordinating patient care, managing clinical teams, and ensuring quality outcomes. The Clinical Manager establishes departmental goals in alignment with organizational objectives and patient needs. This role provides care across the lifespan, including children, adults, and geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate clinical operations in the Emergency Department.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Lead, mentor, and support the ER nursing team.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
- Monitor and manage departmental resources, budgets, and operational efficiency.
- Address and resolve patient care concerns and staff issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required).
- BSN preferred.
Experience:
- Five or more years of current clinical experience in Emergency Nursing or related specialty.
- Three to five years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active RN license in New Mexico or Compact State (required).
- CPR certification (required).
