Position Title: Commercial/Industrial Concrete Estimator
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Commercial/Industrial Concrete Estimator to join our team. This role focuses on developing accurate estimates for a wide range of large-scale projects, including commercial parking structures, concrete footings and foundations, apartment complexes, office buildings, and other vertical construction. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and scopes to prepare precise cost estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings to gather critical project-specific information.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, and calculate material costs, labor hours, and equipment expenses.
- Review historical data such as purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity reports to refine estimating protocols.
- Assist in assembling and finalizing comprehensive bid package estimates.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in commercial/industrial construction estimating.
- Proven experience in estimating for wastewater treatment facilities, water tanks, and multi-level parking structures.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical plans, and contract documents.
- Proficient in bottom-up estimating methods, particularly using Bid2Win software.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of estimating techniques, cost control methods, and material pricing strategies.
- Advanced math skills, including proficiency in fractions, percentages, ratios, and geometric calculations for area and volume take-offs.
- Excellent communication skills for responding to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
