Job Overview:
The Concrete Quality Control Technician will implement quality control plans for ready-mix concrete in the heavy highway industry. This role involves maintaining strong working relationships with clients' representatives to ensure projects stay on track, with the ultimate goal of delivering high-quality products within project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality control throughout the entire concrete production process, including raw materials, mix designs, and finished products.
- Regularly interact with customers, sales teams, operations staff, vendors, and engineers to ensure product integrity and resolve any issues.
- Monitor and oversee the quality of concrete on job sites, ensuring that project specifications are met.
- Maintain and report on job site issues, driver performance, and product quality problems.
- Work with dispatch, sales, and customers to design and adjust mix designs while staying within cost parameters.
- Assist in ensuring that job mix formulas are properly integrated into the plant operations in accordance with laboratory designs.
- Compile and report summaries of testing results from completed projects.
- Assist with other duties as directed by the Quality Control Manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience testing ready-mix concrete.
- A.C.I. Field Technician Grade 1 certification.
- Strong knowledge of concrete mix designs and their applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Over 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including 40 hours per week with occasional extended hours and travel.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in the Aggregates and/or Construction industry.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, employees, and state officials.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong math skills and the ability to interpret data.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A team player, dedicated to achieving quality results.
