Position Overview
The Director of Biomedical Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the HTM program, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical devices. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and regulatory knowledge to enhance patient care through effective technology management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Provide direction and oversight for the HTM program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement service strategies to optimize medical device performance and utilization.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare technology management.
Technology Assessment & Integration
- Evaluate medical devices for functionality, reliability, and integration with clinical operations.
- Oversee the adoption and implementation of new medical technologies to enhance patient care.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, including CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, and NRC standards.
- Develop risk management protocols to enhance medical device safety and operational reliability.
Vendor & Financial Management
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and oversee financial planning for medical technology investments.
- Optimize capital planning and budgeting for medical device acquisitions and lifecycle management.
Performance Monitoring & Analytics
- Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness.
- Utilize data analytics to assess program performance and recommend process improvements.
Candidate Qualifications
Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of leadership experience in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM).
- Proven ability to manage medical technology operations within a healthcare setting.
Certifications:
- Certification in a relevant field, such as:
- CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician)
- CHTM (Certified Healthcare Technology Manager) (Required)
Skills & Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge of medical devices, manufacturers, and capital planning.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and healthcare technology standards.
- Analytical problem-solving skills with experience leveraging data for decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to drive innovation and team collaboration.

- Willingness to travel as needed for site visits and program oversight.
