Position Overview
The Director of Surgical/Telemetry will lead and manage the surgical and telemetry departments at our client’s Murrieta location. This role includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality patient care, and supporting nursing staff in a dynamic acute care environment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, enhancing service delivery, and driving staff development and engagement.
The position also offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team within a state-of-the-art facility that specializes in advanced surgical care, pediatric emergency services, and family-centered childbirth programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Operations Management:
- Lead and oversee daily operations of the Surgical and Telemetry departments.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, patient safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Staff Development and Engagement:
- Mentor and develop nursing staff, providing opportunities for career growth and skills enhancement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set departmental goals, and provide ongoing support.
- Promote staff participation in continuing education and advanced certification programs.
- Strategic Planning and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and optimize workflows.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental efficiency and service delivery.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental objectives with organizational goals.
- Customer and Patient Care Focus:
- Maintain a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring comfort and satisfaction for patients and families.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare staff to address concerns and implement solutions.
Required Skills and Certifications
- California Professional Nursing License (current and active).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required).
- American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) Certification (preferred).
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required); Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting. At least 3 years of acute care nursing management experience.
- Proven ability to manage teams, foster growth, and maintain compliance within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
