Excellence Manager
Our award-winning client, a nationally recognized leader in medical technology and manufacturing, is seeking a dynamic Excellence Manager to lead site-wide initiatives in operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and cultural transformation.
This role plays a key part in deploying lean strategies, fostering a zero-loss mindset, and driving measurable improvements in productivity, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment of strategic initiatives, using cascading KPIs to align site performance with enterprise goals.
- Partner with site and business unit leaders to identify improvement opportunities and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Promote operational and customer excellence with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost optimization.
- Mentor and coach staff in Lean and Six Sigma; lead training programs to build a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive Kaizen events and focused improvement initiatives to deliver breakthrough performance gains.
- Oversee and develop a team of Factory Excellence Engineers, cultivating a high-performance team environment.
- Sustain long-term cost optimization initiatives, ensuring robust governance and cross-functional execution.
- Ensure alignment with corporate transformation frameworks and drive consistent deployment of structured methodologies.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 7 years in manufacturing leadership, with 3 years managing production systems or excellence programs.
- Proven success in Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives (Black Belt preferred).
- Track record of leading transformation or improvement efforts in multi-site or global settings.
- Deep understanding of how operational improvements drive financial and customer service performance.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong grasp of strategy deployment, value stream mapping, loss elimination, and process optimization tools.
- Financial literacy to assess cost-to-win strategies and ROI on improvement initiatives.
- Experience embedding frameworks into everyday operations while managing complex improvement portfolios.
Soft Skills:
- Influential leadership and change management skills, even without formal authority.
- Analytical, adaptable, and collaborative—able to thrive in matrixed environments.
- Exceptional communicator and coach with a passion for developing teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred).
