Nuclear Medicine Technologist
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will conduct clinical and research nuclear medicine procedures, assist in the development of protocols and quality assurance measures, and provide training to students and staff. This is an opportunity to work with advanced nuclear medicine technologies in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical & Research Procedures:
Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including general and cardiac studies, with precision and attention to detail.
- Training & Development:
Provide hands-on training and clinical instruction to students and staff in nuclear medicine techniques.
- Protocol Development:
Collaborate in creating and implementing department protocols, quality assurance standards, and operational improvements.
- Documentation & QA:
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation and assist with related administrative and computer tasks.
- On-Call Rotation:
Participate in rotating call coverage every 12 days, including 24-hour weekend shifts and 14-hour weeknight shifts.
- Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Certifications:
- Active ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or NMTCB (CNMT) certification.
- Vermont Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (or eligibility to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of paid experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Experience with PET/CT imaging and working in a Level I trauma center.
- Systems Expertise:
Familiarity with Epic EMR or other electronic medical record systems.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in diagnostic evaluations and interpretation of nuclear medicine results.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Experience with advanced imaging technologies such as PET scans.
- Ability to maintain sterility using aseptic techniques.
