About the Role

Our award-winning client, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Adult Medicine department. This role focuses on providing patient-centered primary care, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Working in close collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care that addresses both acute and chronic medical needs.
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical exams.
  • Maintain detailed and timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally competent care tailored to individual needs.
  • Refer patients to specialists or coordinate additional care as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in patient education, focusing on preventative care and disease management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid Connecticut licensure as an APRN or PA.
  • Eligibility for DEA registration and state narcotic certification.
  • Proficiency in clinical guidelines and delivering care in a primary care setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Competence in using EHR systems and other healthcare technologies.

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years of experience in ambulatory or urgent care settings.
  • Bilingual, with Spanish proficiency being highly desirable.
