Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain steam boilers, air compressors, motors, pumps, and power generation equipment.
- Conduct chemical testing to ensure optimal boiler water quality and equipment efficiency.
- Install, repair, and maintain pressurized piping systems, including water, steam, oil, compressed air, and natural gas.
- Diagnose and repair powerhouse equipment, utilizing expertise in both analog and digital control systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing diagrams for effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Utilize hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipes, as well as perform soldering and sweating of copper joints.
- Maintain and service high-pressure steam stations, ensuring proper function of steam lines, traps, strainers, regulators, and valves.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Powerhouse Maintenance Technician, specializing in steam boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, power generation equipment, and pressurized piping systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of high-pressure systems, including natural gas and steam-related components.
- Residency within 50 miles of the Syracuse facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of powerhouse maintenance experience.
- Background in a manufacturing environment with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
