Printing Press Operator (Night Shift)
Essential Functions
Flexographic Printing Press Operator Responsibilities
- Inspect & Verify the quality of printing mats, ensuring proper setup, alignment, and secure attachment to printing sleeves or mandrels.
- Examine Raw Materials to ensure correct web stock and ink are used for processing top webs.
- Load Rolls of Web Material onto the press, confirming accuracy for production.
- Operate the Printing Press to produce high-quality printed products.
- Perform Cleanup & Preventative Maintenance on printing and slitting equipment per manuals and Quality Control standards.
- Conduct Minor Repairs on printing and slitting equipment and assist the Tool Room or Maintenance team with major repairs.
- Maintain and Document Inventory of inks, mats, and paper stock used in production.
- Schedule Internal Processing of web materials to optimize press efficiency and reduce downtime during changeovers.
- Track Material Transfers between departments for smooth workflow.
- Maintain Spare Parts Inventory to ensure quick replacements during press operations.
- Set Up & Process Web Materials on web label slitting equipment when necessary.
- Ensure Cleanliness of the work area in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Report Safety Hazards immediately to supervisors.
- Track Production & Waste and report following updated accounting methods.
- Complete Quality Inspections as per client requirements to maintain product quality.
General Responsibilities
- Follow Safety Practices and complete forklift operator training.
- Use Proper Lifting Equipment for safe material handling and perform daily checks on powered equipment.
- Comply with Safety Regulations and client-specific policies.
- Apply Quality Assurance Principles consistently and adhere to client quality policies.
- Observe Environmental & Safety Standards during all operations.
- Perform Additional Duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- Prior printing press experience is mandatory.
