This position is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of products, compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and cultivating a strong culture of food safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Certification & Compliance
- Maintain and oversee FSSC 22000 certification.
- Ensure all Quality Management System (QMS) processes, records, and trainings meet certification standards.
- Process Oversight & Audits
- Lead internal and external audits.
- Maintain adherence to GMPs, food safety standards, and customer-specific requirements.
- Customer Quality Management
- Investigate customer complaints and conduct root cause analysis.
- Drive implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to sustain quality standards.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Create and monitor Quality Scorecards capturing key performance metrics such as customer complaints, CAPAs, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Training & Development
- Manage training programs for both new and tenured employees on QMS, internal audits, and general quality awareness.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor Quality Technicians, promoting accountability and a strong food safety culture.
- Regulatory & Customer Liaison
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and customer quality representatives.
- Special Certifications Management
- Maintain third-party certifications such as Kosher, Halal, and Organic.
- Quality Culture Initiatives
- Lead the Food Safety Quality Culture Team, ensuring continuous improvement initiatives are executed across departments.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry.
- 2 years in a supervisory or managerial quality role.
- Strong proficiency with QMS, food safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific or technical field.
- Demonstrated experience handling customer complaint processes, performing root cause analysis, and leading resolution strategies.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Project Management principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and quality documentation systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.
