Role Overview
As a Regional Sales Manager, you will spearhead efforts to expand market share and foster strong client relationships within the region. This position emphasizes selling commercial roller shade solutions, requiring expertise in the construction industry, particularly in the bidding process. Building connections with architects, designers, and other decision-makers will be integral to success.
The territory for this position includes Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, with an expectation of regular travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a strategic sales plan designed to surpass business goals.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including architects, designers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct client presentations and product demonstrations, emphasizing technical solutions and product value.
- Prospect daily to identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor for customers, providing technical guidance, product specifications, and industry insights.
- Deliver AIA CEU-approved educational presentations to engage and inform clients (minimum of six annually).
- Maintain a detailed account list of high-priority projects and track progress across the region.
- Stay informed about competitors, market trends, and customer needs to optimize sales strategies.
- Coordinate sales activities with internal teams, including account management, technical support, and finance, to streamline operations and achieve results.
- Leverage sales tools and construction reporting services to track and manage leads effectively.
- Ensure efficient use of time through proper planning, data management, and office organization.
- Communicate effectively to uncover customer needs and close sales with confidence.
- Demonstrate superior project management skills by coordinating efforts and following up to maximize outcomes.
- Exhibit a strong dedication to achieving goals and delivering outstanding results.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Field experience may substitute for formal education.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven success in outside sales, preferably in construction or building materials. Previous experience working with architects and designers is strongly desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email tools. Familiarity with sales tracking systems such as WSS is an asset.
- Additional Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver projects on time.
- A demonstrated history of prospecting, cold-calling, and driving business growth.
- Knowledge of commercial window coverings is highly preferred.
