Position Overview:
The PACU/ASU Registered Nurse will play a key role in promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process, providing care for pre- and post-operative patients recovering from general, local, and regional anesthesia. The nurse will cater to age-specific and cultural needs, ensuring top-quality care throughout the perioperative process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for pre- and post-op patients.
- Monitor patients’ recovery from anesthesia, ensuring their comfort and stability.
- Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding surgical care and recovery processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from an accredited professional nursing school.
- Current Arizona Registered Nurse license or Compact State Registered Nurse license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- ASPAN Certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- NIH Stroke certification.
- 3 years of experience in PACU or ACU settings.
