Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

About the Position
Our healthcare partner, a nationally recognized organization, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for their Medical-Surgical unit. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform clinical treatments to support patient recovery.
• Conduct thorough assessments and deliver comprehensive care based on individual needs.

Care Coordination

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, document, and communicate patient care plans.
• Work closely with physicians, specialists, and families to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Monitoring

• Monitor and document patient conditions with accuracy, promptly addressing any critical changes.
• Maintain patient safety while delivering consistent, high-quality care.

Daily Support

• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and other daily activities to promote patient comfort and recovery.
• Provide respectful and compassionate support in all aspects of patient care.

Team Collaboration

• Facilitate patient transfers, discharges, and referrals to ensure seamless transitions.
• Address the spiritual and psychosocial needs of patients in coordination with support teams.

Patient and Family Education

• Provide personalized education that is culturally sensitive and appropriate for different age groups.
• Equip patients and families with the knowledge and tools to manage health conditions effectively.

Advocacy

• Support the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of patients.
• Ensure patient preferences and needs are prioritized and respected.

Qualifications

Licensure:

• Active RN license in Kentucky or a Compact State.
• New graduates may practice under a provisional Kentucky license for up to six months, with permanent licensure required within that timeframe.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 45 days of hire).

Experience:

• Previous acute care experience is preferred.
