Superintendent – MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
About the Role
Our award-winning client, a nationally recognized leader in commercial construction, is seeking a seasoned MEP Superintendent to lead all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems on large-scale vertical construction projects.
This key role provides on-site leadership, ensuring all MEP activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Ideal candidates will bring experience overseeing MEP subcontractors on complex commercial projects such as mid-rise and high-rise buildings, data centers, and distribution facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate MEP subcontractors and trade partners for seamless site operations.
- Lead 3D MEP system modeling and coordination, ensuring clash detection and spatial planning are addressed early.
- Manage quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes for installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed MEP schedules, aligned with overall project timelines.
- Ensure all installations meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Review materials and equipment submittals before installation.
- Oversee procurement of MEP materials and long-lead equipment.
- Collaborate with the project management and general superintendent teams to integrate MEP scopes into the broader construction plan.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with MEP safety protocols, codes, and best practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing MEP subcontractors and executing complex system installations.
- Strong understanding of MEP codes, installation best practices, and project integration strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and schedules.
- Highly organized with strong prioritization and communication skills.
- Minimum 3 years of direct MEP coordination or supervision experience on projects $20M in value.
- Background in project management (PM) or quality control (QC) in a similar capacity is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (preferred).
