Position Overview:
Our Award-Winning Client is seeking an experienced Superintendent – MEP Commercial Construction to oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) operations for large-scale vertical construction projects in Memphis, TN. You will be responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating MEP subcontractors and trade partners, ensuring compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- MEP Oversight: Lead and coordinate MEP subcontractors and trade partners, ensuring adherence to project schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- 3D Modeling & Coordination: Direct the 3D modeling and coordination process for MEP systems.
- Scheduling & Performance: Assist in the development of detailed schedules for MEP activities and oversee their execution.
- QA/QC & Commissioning: Manage the QA/QC process for MEP system installation through commissioning and startup.
- Material & Equipment Review: Review MEP materials and equipment prior to installation to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Procurement & Planning: Oversee the material procurement process for MEP activities.
- Subcontractor Collaboration: Coordinate work with subcontractors to ensure all activities align with project scope and specifications.
- Construction Oversight: Support the general superintendent with the overall project plan as it relates to MEP activities.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Extensive knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of MEP coordination experience.
- Previous experience as Project Manager (PM), Quality Control (QC), or MEP Superintendent on medium to large projects ($20M ).
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of MEP codes and compliance standards.
- Experience managing MEP subcontractors and contracts.
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
- Experience with high-rise, retail, industrial, and federal construction projects.
Skills & Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in MEP system installation, coordination, and QA/QC processes.
- Experience with 3D modeling, scheduling, and procurement.
- Familiarity with MEP codes and regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage large-scale vertical construction projects.
