Position Summary
Responds to emergency and non-emergency requests, provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) as needed, transports sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility, and complies with state and local standards. We trust our AEMTs to practice at the top of their certification; our facilities and their physicians trust our transport teams to integrate with their initial emergency treatment plans, follow up rehabilitation plans and long term care plans. The AEMT will work side by side with a Paramedic in order to work as a liaison and training coordinator for our BLS Providers.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Colorado EMT - Advanced Or Paramedic Certification (Required)
- American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification for the BLS provider (Required)
- Valid driver's license with Clean driving record (Required)
- Maintaining a Driver License for at least 1 year (Required)
- 1 Year Minimum Experience working in EMS (Preferred)
- EVOC / CEVO driver training course (Preferred)
- High School or Equivalent (required)
- At Least 18 years of age (Required)
- Submit to Criminal Background Check conducted by CBI (required)
- Submit to Drug Test upon hire and randomized drug testing throughout employment (Required)

Interviews are conducted at our home office and include medical scenario evaluations and a written test.
You will need to bring an unofficial driving record to your interview or email it to MGreen@MetroCareAmbulance.com prior to your arrival.
New Candidates enter EMS BLS Training academy the first week of every month and complete 9 shifts of initial training before being cleared for Ambulance Operations. Advanced EMT's / Paramedics will work a minimum of 30 days as a BLS Field Provider while being supplemented with advanced scope training before starting EMS ALS Academy. Exceptions can be made if providers have relevant previous work history. Upon successful completion of EMS ALS Academy, Advanced EMT's / Paramedics work under the scope of practice set forth under Denver Metro EMS Protocols.
AEMT Candidates must have their NREMT AEMT upon hiring.
Candidates must have their Colorado AEMT within 30 days of hiring.
Paramedics must have their Colorado Paramedic Certification / License.
