Position Summary

Responds to emergency and non-emergency requests to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) as needed, transports sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility, and complies with state and local standards. We trust our Advanced Life Support Providers to practice at the top of their certification; our facilities and their physicians trust our transport teams to integrate with their initial emergency treatment plans, follow up rehabilitation plans and long term care plans.

We are building a new dual ALS emergent ambulance within our ambulance division. This is to better facilitate the treatment and transport of our acute patient condition changes within our community . These calls for service start at one of our contracted facilities to transport to a local emergency department. As the ALS Field Lieutenant, you will fulfill this role on ambulance as well as other supervisory tasks/duties while on shift.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Colorado EMT - Advanced Or Paramedic Certification (Required)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification for the BLS provider (Required)
  • Valid driver's license with Clean driving record (Required)
  • Maintaining a Driver License for at least 1 year (Required)
  • 1 Year Minimum Experience working in EMS (Preferred)
  • EVOC/CEVO driver training course (Preferred)​
  • High School or Equivalent (required)
  • At Least 18 years of age (Required)
  • Submit to Criminal Background Check conducted by CBI (required)
  • Submit to Drug Test upon hire and randomized drug testing throughout employment (Required)

Job Responsibilities:

  • This is a supervisory role.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in line with company uniform standards.
  • Prompt attendance consistent with scheduled hours. 
  • Be respectful and courteous to healthcare professionals and patients, including being a patient advocate.
  • Treat and transport patients in line with Denver Metro Protocols and industry best practices.
  • Respond to calls in a timely manner, navigating to destinations by memory or with GPS software.
  • Maintain contact with dispatchers via company phones and tablets.
  • AEMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
  • Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
  • Use appropriate procedures to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.
  • EMTs operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow EMTs.
  •  Assists with scheduling, assigning, directing and reviewing the work of EMTs.
  • Verifies that units are clean, stocked, and in working order, and verify that buildings and grounds are clean and well kept.
  •  Ensure that all necessary patient care and billing documentation is completed within specified timeframes and allows for maximal reimbursement.
  •  Ensures compliance with federal, state and local standards, contractual requirements, and established operational and safety policies and procedures.

Shift Hours

  • Shifts are 10 hour shifts 4 days a week. Consistent scheduling.
  • We are hiring for Friday-Monday Weekend Supervisor.
  • Flexible scheduling Hours as long as you work 10 hours per duty day.


Pay and Bonus Structure

  • $23 - $30/hr: Pay based on experience and provider level
  • Raises with bonus at six-month, and yearly reviews based on performance
  • Overtime (time-and-a-half) pay available for >36 hours per week.
  • Holiday Pay (time-and-a-half)

New Candidates enter EMS BLS Training academy the first week of every month and complete 9 shifts of initial training before being cleared for Ambulance Operations. Advanced EMT's / Paramedics will work a minimum of 30 days as a BLS Field Provider while being supplemented with advanced scope training before starting EMS ALS Academy. Exceptions can be made if providers have relevant previous work history. Upon successful completion of EMS ALS Academy, Advanced EMT's /Paramedics work under the scope of practice set forth under Denver Metro EMS Protocols.


AEMT Candidates must have their NREMT AEMT upon hiring.

Candidates must have their Colorado AEMT within 30 days of hiring.

Paramedics must have their Colorado Paramedic Certification/License upon hiring.
