Job Overview
The Domestic Violence Advocate plays a crucial role in supporting individuals affected by domestic violence. This position involves providing crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services to clients while ensuring their safety and well-being. The advocate will work closely with various community resources and agencies to facilitate access to necessary services and support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals experiencing domestic violence.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine client needs and develop appropriate case management plans.
  • Facilitate access to resources such as shelter, legal assistance, and counseling services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions, including data collection for reporting purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, community partners, and service providers to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Assist clients in navigating the legal system, including obtaining protective orders and understanding their rights.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to help clients cope with trauma and stress.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills in addiction counseling and crisis intervention techniques.
  • File necessary paperwork in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A background in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in crisis intervention or case management is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective advocacy.
  • Experience with unhoused population a plus
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism and empathy towards clients.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas related to domestic violence advocacy and support services.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week

Schedule:

  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evenings as needed
  • Evening shift
  • Holidays
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Overnight shift
  • Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person

Salary : $16 - $18
