What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advancement Assistant position at Metro Christian Academy?
Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time Advancement Assistant to assist in planning and implementing fundraising events and projects.
The ideal candidate must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.), great attention to detail, excellent data entry skills, great verbal and written communication skills, basic research and data collection skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain the confidential nature of the position.
DUTIES :
· Coordinates and oversees annual fundraising calendar and strategically aligned cycles.
· Greets and assists volunteers, donors, students, alumni, parents, and staff in a kind and courteous manner.
· Assists Coordinator in managing a variety of projects including, but not limited to, special events and donor relations.
· Partners with the Business Office to reconcile donation records with accounting records; assists with audit, as requested.
· Assists Coordinator in brainstorming ideas and developing creative concepts for current and potential events and campaigns.
· Aids Coordinator in preparing for donor meetings including researching donor information, preparing reports, and participating in meetings when requested.
· Handles all correspondence regarding advancement contributions with families, foundations, companies, and other interested individuals, including, but not limited to donor receipts, gift acknowledgement statements, thank you notes, and year end consolidated giving reports.
· Performs a variety of administrative work associated with special projects and events; processes correspondences contributions such as thank you letters, memorial acknowledgements and special events correspondences; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same before submitting for approval.
· Recruits, coordinates, and instructs volunteers assisting with events; builds and maintains volunteer database; follows up with a thank you note to each volunteer at the end of each event.
· Manages and maintains donor records through the donor database; inputs and updates information, records changes, makes necessary deletions, and insures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred, and
· Fund-raising and event planning experience, preferred, or
· Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Candidate must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma for this position.
