MetroEHS is looking for caring professional individuals to work as behavior technicians, helping children diagnosed with Autism reach their goals. This part-time, entry-level position is vital to the success of our little ones as they work and play in our clinics. We are looking for the right person to join the team at our Plymouth Neighborhood Therapy Center!

Candidates with no ABA experience are encouraged to apply; paid training is available!

Other ABA Therapist opportunities may be available at our other locations around Southeast Michigan: Brownstown, Bloomfield Hills, Clarkston, Davison, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Detroit, Madison Heights, Rochester Hills, Saline, Sterling Heights, South Lyon, Southfield, Plymouth, and West Bloomfield. Candidates will be able to indicate their preferred locations at the time of application.

Behavior Technicians will work under the direction of a BCBA to carry out treatment plans with our amazing little superheroes!

We are primarily looking for professionals with childcare experience, or students (18 and up) who have worked in or are pursuing an education in the following areas or a related area:

  • Psychology
  • Healthcare (Nursing, Child Life, Caretaker, etc)
  • Education
  • Social Work
  • Other Related Fields

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

At MetroEHS, benefits are offered to employees who work 30 or more hours per week for thirty days (this is what we consider full-time status). Those who are hired into this position typically start out as part-time employees and have the opportunity to grow into a full-time position depending on their flexibility and the needs of the clinic.

Job Summary

Behavior Technicians (BT)/Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) will provide ABA therapy to clients diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). As a BT, you will work closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement client-specific, comprehensive treatment plans.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct direct one-on-one therapy sessions with clients.

2. Collect and record data on client programming during sessions.

3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent and effective implementation of behavior plans.

4. Maintain Recipient Rights of all clients, respecting their dignity, privacy, and cultural differences.

5. Maintain arms-reach proximity with clients at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.

6. Provide feedback and communicate progress to BCBAs and other team members.

7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

8. Participate in monthly staff meetings as scheduled by support staff and supervisors.

9. Foster daily communication with families regarding client progress and needs.

10. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions and progress following MetroEHS guidelines and expectations.

11. Pursue RBT Certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent required

2. Previous experience working with individuals with ASD or related developmental disorders preferred.

3. Completion of required ABA training programs and willingness to complete training upon hire.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to follow behavior intervention plans and adapt strategies as needed.

6. Strong organizational and time-management skills.

7. Commitment to upholding ethical standards of the RBT Ethics Code as written by the BACB.
