JOB SUMMARY: Metro Engineering Solutions, LLC (“MES”) is looking for a Traffic Control Support Specialist to join our team! MES is a multifaceted utility and telecommunications engineering firm serving clients throughout the Midwest. The Traffic Control Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe flow of traffic in construction areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to implement proper control of traffic to ensure safety of road crew and public
- Responsible for setting up and breaking down traffic control equipment
- Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule, location, and shift changes.
- Communicate with construction crews to coordinate traffic flow
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust controls as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Project Manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Primarily work outdoors, must be able to work in extreme heat and cold.
- Regularly required to walk for long distances.

- Compensation will commensurate with experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma and/or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Minimum two (2) years applicable experience working with construction, engineering, or facilities maintenance.
- Required to have satisfactory results on a Motor Vehicle Record check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- OSHA confined space training certification preferred.
- Ability to understand basic principles of public and private utilities.
- Ability to learn and understand civil, structural, electrical, and communication systems and structures.
- Compliance and knowledge of OSHA and site safety rules.
