The Foreman is responsible for ensuring everything goes smoothly at a construction site. The Foreman is the point of contact between the Superintendent and assigned fitters and helpers and will report project progress to Project Manager. A desired candidate has five (5) or more years of experience working in the construction industry, knows how to read drawings and blueprints, and has managed people.
Responsibilities
The point of contact for any given job/ project
Assign duties to fitters and/ or apprentices based on qualifications and knowledge to ensure project is completed with accuracy
Responsible for monitoring the progress of a project and keeping project on track for completion
Data-driven: able to provide reports including progress updates and other aspects of a job
Read construction drawing and blueprints
Develop work schedule for fitters and/or apprentices
Recognize potential design flaws and address issues with design team
Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all safe operating procedures
Handle complaints and/ or customer service issues
Train apprentices: provide knowledge and assistance in an effort to educate, promote and retain employees
Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements:Valid Driver’s License
5 years prior work experience
Prior experience in a supervisory role/ leading teams
Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs
Ability to direct, supervise and troubleshoot common issues that may arise
Time management skills: ability to effectively manage a project from inception to completion
Ability to manage multiple projects and work with discretion even through high volume/stress
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent knowledge of construction practices, methods, trends and crew data
General understanding of OSHA
