The Project Manager is primarily responsible for planning and overseeing security installation projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The Project Manager will plan and designate technicians to complete the project, prepare budgets, monitor progress, keep Security Manager updated on project status, and perform final job walks. A desired candidate has experience as a Security Install Technician, has project management experience, is detail-oriented and timely, has excellent communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customers and company’s best interest.
Responsibilities
Communicate with Install dispatcher in scheduling new jobs and completion
Assisting Technicians with Site walks, Equipment needs, training needs and Job assistance.
Quality Checks, Training Customers and Customer sign offs.
Requesting Job parts with warehouse and will-call order pick-ups.
Set, review, and monitor standards for quality and accuracy for work performed by install technicians
Train, develop, and mentor technicians on procedures and products
Conduct quality assurance checks on work performed by installation technicians
Review contract documents for thorough understanding of the job scope
Implement a project schedule based on job site progress and time requirements to insure timely completion of jobs and manpower requirements
Coordinate manpower requirements and labor forecast for installation technicians
Maintain current job plans and specification
Job site visits, construction meetings, progress checks, pre-testing as required
Update Security Manager on schedule changes, work order changes, or provide status updates
Take calls from technicians and provide advice to complete work accurately
Educate customers on preventative care and regular maintenance to prevent system malfunctions
Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate, and detailed
Stay current with code requirements and industry changes
Ensure Installation Technicians are completing job with accuracy and in accordance with NFPA standards
Conduct annual performance reviews technicians
Provide performance improvement feedback and/ or discipline to employees who are not fulfilling the expectations of their role
Attend and complete all required training, including safety training
Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
5-8 years prior security install work experience
2 years prior work experience managing a team of 3 or more people
Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
High precision/ detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Able to travel to multiple job sites each day
Able to use a computer and read blueprints
Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a day
