Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment. Must have a good clean driver’s record. Be able to drive light-duty trucks. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. with assistance. Open schedule Monday through Friday from 06:00 a.m. to 18:00 health benefits available pay rate ranges from $16 - $17.50 per hour depending on experience. Be the first to select your shift and hours of work. Must be able to obtain EVOC within 30 days of employment. Metro Health EMS offers health insurance, dental, vision, and life insurance to our full-time members. We pay for EMT school once you meet requirements.

Job Description
- Follows and stays up to date with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Operates Company vehicles in a safety manner, familiar with operating emergency vehicles and follows state traffic laws and regulatory requirements. Maintains driving record on and off duty in accordance with Safety, Health & Environmental policy, and procedures.
- Performs documented daily vehicle inspections to ensure the ambulance is in a state of mechanical readiness; refill automotive fluids as necessary; ensures that appropriate safety medical equipment, supplies are on board vehicle.
- Notifies immediate supervisor when vehicle deficiencies, equipment / supplies are missing or defective or mechanical failure to ambulance vehicle has occurred.
- Ensures the ambulance is cleaned inside / outside, medical equipment is restocked, and fuel is topped off at the end of each shift.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment while transporting to and from medical appointments.
- Ability to understand patient medical condition while in care. Communicate effectively with medical professionals when transferring patients to respective medical care providers.
- Ability to communicate with dispatchers, facility staff members and other responders via phone or radio with regards to the status of patient, location, and estimated time of arrival throughout the workday.
- Responding to emergencies efficiently and promptly. Administering basic first aid and medical support and assessing the nature and extent of injuries/illnesses.
- Demonstrating a strong orientation towards teamwork and the ability to understand the importance of team coordinated efforts.
- Create an environment of trust and caring, which allows workers to take responsibility to reduce or eliminate actions or behaviors under their control that contribute to injury and illness.
- Attend meetings and serve on committees as requested.
