OVERVIEW

This person will be responsible for managing program data and compliance activities to monitor and improve the effectiveness of the organization’s services. The Data Management and Quality Improvement Manager (DMQIM) will foster continuous improvement efforts for Metro Housing’s programs and deliver performance and outcome measures, regularly assessing programs’ success in achieving these measures. The DMQIM will develop and deliver training to staff on data entry and data use and will assess staff knowledge and skills on training topics. The DMQIM will maintain expertise in software used by Housing Supports and Financial Assistance programs.

 

This is a hybrid position where you will work a minimum of two (2) days per week in the office at 1411 Tremont Street Boston, MA.  Hybrid work schedule may change, and you will be notified by your supervisor. 

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Data, Research, & Evaluation

 

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Executes organizational vision and strategic plan on data, quality assurance, goal setting, and outcomes measurement through development and deployment of data quality tools, including relationship management, dashboards, quality assurance algorithms, and reporting software.
  • Manages and maintains data elements and user account features in program teams’ case management software, ensuring the accuracy of the data across multiple programs.
  • Works with leadership and management to create data-driven program processes. Assumes responsibility for process mapping & diagramming, stakeholder commitments & responsibilities, implementation, and measurements/tracking.
  • Leads periodic internal program audits to identify program performance issues and to develop tools to enhance program performance and quality.
  • Manages program self-assessment with program managers, especially as required by funding sources.
  • Regularly reviews program utilization and fidelity to organizational case management practices and data entry into case management data base(s). Participates in organization work groups focused on case management integration, both in practice and in database entries.
  • Manages design and use of automated computer software steps where appropriate, in service of data analysis, reporting, and/or data quality.
  • Communicates organizational data strategies and quality goals through internal communications.
  • Manages collaboration with program departments and Development to deliver timely submission of goals and accomplishments for funders, partners, leadership, and Board members. Receives, reviews, and archives program goals and objectives.
  • Presents data visualizations and reports to show our organization’s community impact and value
  • Lead staff training and quality assurance processes for program data entry. Delivers program software trainings and develops program materials, including: basic database instruction for new staff, continuous learning & refresher training for existing staff, new features/options training when needed. This effort includes creating reference guides and “how-to” videos as training aides.
  • Manages production and writing of summary reports for programs and operations including charts, tables, graphs, and other visual aids.
  • Responds in timely manner to requests and inquiries from clients and staff, whether by phone, in person, and/or by written communications.
  • Understands and applies state and federal regulations, memoranda of understanding, and other contracts and agreements related to program data, including security, privacy, and consent.
  • Communicates and works collaboratively with team. Uses critical thinking and independent judgement to proactively identify emerging issues, and cooperates to develop solutions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; higher quantitative degree or training preferred.
  • 4 years in data management, data analysis, and/or process improvement.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality within the workplace.
  • Strong proven leadership, project management, and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team to promote the goals of the program and organization.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income, and diverse populations especially people experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness.
  • Ability to work in a busy, diverse team setting.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of data tools including: R/Python, SQL, GIS software, Power BI; experience using current case management software preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and comfort learning new software and tracking systems.

  • Candidates who live within two miles of Metro Housing|Boston’s headquarters at Roxbury Crossing.
