What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants?
HHI Pharmacy (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician who would be responsible for assisting Pharmacists with compounding, documentation, and other dispensing functions; Performs aseptic environment maintenance tasks; and assists with preparing and delivering patient shipments.
Duties
1) Pick and stage medication orders to be filled and compounded.
2) Compound parenteral and other medications for patients.
3) Perform environmental monitoring tests.
4) Type prescription labels and prepare other documentation materials for pharmacist approval.
5) File documentation records.
6) Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment and facilities used for compounding sterile products.
7) Monitor pharmaceutical inventory and purchase replacement inventories.
8) Pick and prepare patient product ship orders for delivery and occasionally execute patient order deliveries.
Requirements

- At least a high school education
- Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
- At least (1) one year of previous experience compounding parenteral medications is preferred
- Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, and influenza.
