Overview of the position:

The Field Service Technician 1st shift (2:00PM-10:30PM), plays a crucial role in ensuring total customer satisfaction by providing expert installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance support. This position requires exceptional repair and troubleshooting skills, extensive knowledge, a strong work ethic, and excellent customer service abilities. The ideal candidate should also be adaptable to sudden changes in work schedules and scope. This is a highly skilled, non-supervisory role suited for individuals with significant experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance.

The selected candidate may be required to work weekends and overtime, with flexible hours based on customer needs. The starting wage ranges from $25 to $45 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This in-house position offers potential for growth into roles that may involve travel.

Essential Job functions:

· Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.

· Provide on-site and telephone assistance to customers for maintenance, repair, and installation of machine tools.

· Perform troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant systems.

· Diagnose and repair worn or damaged components such as ball screws, bearings, linear guides, roller packs, gears, and gearbox bearings.

· Utilize online technical documents, manuals, and vendor resources to research and resolve machine issues.

· Correct machine geometries, including addressing out-of-square issues, skew, lost motion, and leveling.

· Navigate and operate various machine controllers, including Siemens, Fanuc, Haas, Mitsubishi, and Mazatroll.

· Create and update documentation of technical information.

· Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special service reports.

· Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with other Service Engineers and providing assistance and training as needed.

· Establish and maintain exemplary communication and customer service relationships with clients.

· Manage difficult customer situations positively, respond promptly to customer needs, and solicit feedback to improve service.

· Follow all required safety practices, including adhering to safety procedures, security protocols, and wearing proper PPE.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies:

· Exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals in an industrial manufacturing environment.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Capability to kneel, bend, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand or walk for extended periods.

· Proficiency in working at high elevations, such as on a scissor lift.

Minimum Requirements:

· Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools.

· Experience with OEM machines & PLC programming/troubleshooting, control systems, and power circuits. Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and/or Siemens controls is a plus.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on exceptional customer service.

· Ability to interact and effectively communicate in person and over the phone with individuals at all organizational levels.

· Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.

· Basic computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Adaptable to changes in the work environment, able to manage competing demands, and handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
