Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential clinical support in an outpatient setting, assisting healthcare providers with patient care, administrative tasks, and laboratory procedures. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake, including recording medical histories, measuring vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature), and updating patient information in electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness, sterilization, and organization in accordance with safety standards.
- Administer phlebotomy services, including drawing blood and preparing samples for laboratory testing.
- Assist with basic diagnostic tests and procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Effectively communicate with patients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing instructions with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient patient care and workflow.
- Document and manage patient records accurately in the EHR system.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting.
- Phlebotomy Certification (Required).
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification (Required).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey medical information in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Proficiency in time management, multitasking, and prioritizing responsibilities in a busy environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to patient needs.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in all patient interactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic laboratory procedures.
