Job Summary
The coordinator will oversee and provide school support in areas of professional learning, special EL initiatives and assigned projects. This will include action planning, data analysis and evaluation of programs.
What you will do
- Provides supervision, guidance, professional learning, mentoring, support and coaching to ELD Coaches, EL teachers and content teachers.
- Oversees and support special EL district and school initiatives
- Oversees the collaboration among school leaders, district coaches, and EL office staff in providing the best service model, mentoring, guidance and professional learning based on the needs of teachers and leaders.
- Reviews data with administrators and teachers to create professional learning plans and service model options.
- Create, manage and facilitate departmental and grade level PD sessions to assist with EL instructional strategies in relationship to academic language, literacy, thinking and content.
- Serves on various committees and task forces to ensure English learners’ needs are considered.
Education Qualifications
- Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 2 or more years in leadership experience and/or professional development in regards to ELs Required
Skills and Abilities
- Presenting and creating professional development, curriculum development
Licenses and Certifications
- Teaching Certification/License Current TN Teacher with Administrative Licensure Required
- EL Certification Required
