Position Purpose and Summary:
The Wheelchair Driver will be responsible for transporting ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients to and from hospitals, dialysis centers, and other medical appointments in a non-emergent setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Compassionate and caring drivers are essential to creating a supportive and understanding environment for our clients.
- Door-to-Door Service: Greet clients, assist with their transition from their residence to appointments, and ensure a safe return journey.
- Drive with Confidence: Remain calm and collected while driving in all conditions—rain or shine—ensuring the safety of all passengers and others on the road.
- Punctuality: Your role is crucial in ensuring that clients arrive on time for their essential appointments. You must be dependable and timely for scheduled pickups and drop-offs.
- Communication with Dispatch: Effectively communicate all updates, including drop-offs, delays, and incidents, while staying connected with our Dispatch team for new orders.
- Embrace Variety: Every day is different! Enjoy the experience of meeting new people and visiting new places, making each day unique.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License with no at-fault accidents in the last 3 years (Required).
- CPR & First Aid Certification (Training will be provided on-site by a Metro One Certified Trainer).
- 1 Year of Driver Experience (Preferred).
- Zero At-Fault Incidents in the last 3 years.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience: Must have experience in a customer-facing role, with a proven track record of providing excellent service and assisting clients.
- Driving Experience: Preferred 1 year of van driving experience with a clean driving record (no more than 4 points in the last 3 years). Valid driver’s license required.
- Great Attitude: Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to customer service. Must be adaptable to changing situations.
- Confidentiality: Must comply with HIPAA and adhere to all federal, state, and agency regulations regarding privacy.
Ability to Commute or Relocate:
- Location: Lugoff, SC
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Every other Saturday
Available Shifts:
- 10 Hour Day Shifts
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- CPR & First Aid Certification
