Metro is looking for an experienced and dedicated full time Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team!
This person will be responsible for ensuring the business runs effectively and efficiently. This includes assisting the Accounting Manager in all operations in the accounting department, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable analysis, general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition and fixed asset accounting.

Essential Functions
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish monthly consolidated financial statements targeting a 10-day close cycle, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Prepare and publish monthly location P&Ls.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the general ledger and chart of accounts by recording transactions, reviewing journal entries, and performing account reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing adjusting entries and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, providing insights to management and perform comparative analysis to make recommendations.
- Audit Support: Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation to auditors.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, providing financial projections as needed.
- Manage the weekly AP process ensuring expenses are captured according to budget and are approved prior to payment.
- Perform trend analysis to budget on monthly basis.
- Internal Controls: Review and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage fixed asset/intangible schedules at the clinic level to ensure proper amortization/depreciation.
- Manage and evaluate debt obligations and compliance with respective covenants.
- Maintain the Financial Accounting and Reporting Policies & Procedures Manual.
- Continually update accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls and deploy best practices.
- Manage and comply with reporting requirements and tax filings for local, state and federal government.
- Identify financial trends and perform comparative analysis to make recommendations.
- Ensure timely payment processing and provide analysis regarding past-due accounts.
- Ensure timely bank reconciliation process.
- Assist in managing lease obligations and respective rent schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Public accounting experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in accounting/corporate finance
- Experience using bill processing software such as Bill.com
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-Lookup, Sum-ifs)
- Experience working in an ERP system (Sage a plus)
- Able to work in a dynamic, fluid, fast-paced environment
Not Required, But a Plus
- Master’s in accounting
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant
- Healthcare industry experience
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
