Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Aide plays a vital role in supporting physical therapists in providing high-quality care to patients. Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists during patient treatments by preparing equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks as directed by the physical therapist.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area, including sanitizing equipment after use.
- Document patient progress and any relevant observations to support the therapy team.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
- Support the therapy team in various settings including outpatient, inpatient, acute care, orthopedics, and geriatrics.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to physical therapy practices.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient care effectively.
- Experience or familiarity with orthopedics, acute care, outpatient services, and geriatrics is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while being attentive to patient needs.
