Job Overview

We are looking for a professional, vigilant, and customer-focused Security Guard to join our team at a popular downtown Providence restaurant bar. This role is critical to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for both guests and staff. As a Security Guard, you will play a vital role in upholding the venue’s standards and ensuring guests have a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Safety: Monitor entrance and exits to control and regulate access; check IDs to ensure patrons are of legal drinking age.
• Crowd Management: Maintain a safe and orderly environment; monitor guest behavior and manage any potential issues with tact.
• Conflict Resolution: De-escalate potential conflicts and handle disturbances professionally and calmly; if necessary, escort individuals out of the premises.
• Patrol: Conduct regular patrols throughout the bar and rooftop to observe activities, report hazards, and deter misconduct.
• Incident Documentation: Document any incidents, injuries, or other safety concerns in detail and communicate with management as needed.
• Customer Assistance: Assist guests by providing information and ensuring they feel welcome and secure.
• Emergency Response: Act quickly in emergencies, assisting with evacuations and coordinating with emergency services as needed.
• Asset Protection: Prevent damage or theft of property within the bar and rooftop area.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience as a security guard, especially in hospitality, nightlife, or event venues, is preferred.
• Certification: Security guard licensing (if required by state law); additional certifications in First Aid, CPR, and conflict resolution are a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly in case of emergencies.
• Professionalism: Polished appearance and excellent communication skills; friendly but firm when interacting with guests.
• Situational Awareness: Strong observational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
