Position: Working with the Youth Connections team as a Social Media intern.

Job Summary: As a social media/Video Production Intern at Metro South/West Youth Connections, you will support the Youth Connections team in various projects to enhance the organization's outreach and engagement with youth and employers. You will assist in content creation, social media management, , career exploration content, and other marketing activities to promote Youth Connections' programs and initiatives. This role is highly team-oriented and involves collaboration with various team members to achieve common goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation and Management:
o Develop and schedule content for social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
o Create and post engaging visual and written content, including videos, slideshows, blog posts, and newsletters.
o Produce promotional videos and highlight reels for various Youth Connections programs and events.
o Write and design newsletters to update stakeholders on recent activities and achievements.
o Create infographics and other visual content using Canva and other design tools.
2. Social Media and Online Presence:
o Manage the organization's social media accounts, including posting updates and interacting with followers.
o Add highlights and updates to Instagram, ensuring consistent and appealing content.
o Develop and implement social media strategies for career exploration and program promotion.
3. Event Planning and Coordination:
o Capture and edit photos and videos at events to create engaging content for social media and promotional materials.
o Coordinate and manage expo photo reels and related content.
o Ability to meet deadlines and take lead on independent or team-led projects.
4. Program and Career Support:
o Interview and create profiles of Junior Rangers and other program participants to showcase their experiences.
o Invite connections on LinkedIn and update profiles with new information.
o Create and manage career exploration posts and related content.
5. Administrative and General Support:
o Update and maintain marketing materials and documentation.
o Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and strategies.
6. Special Projects:
o Assist with filming and editing VR video content for promotional use.
o Develop scripts and storyboard content for TikTok and other video platforms.
o Create LinkedIn algorithm research content and infographics.
o Support the development of new marketing strategies and content ideas.
Education:
• Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year university. Students with a major/minor in marketing, business, advertising, film or public relations is preferred, but not required.
Work Experience:
• Previous experience in social media, film, postproduction editing, communications, or related fields is preferred
Hard Skills:
• Proficiency in Canva.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Adobe Premier Pro
Soft Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:
• This internship requires a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. In-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote days on Mondays. But we are also flexible with your schedule.
• This internship is PAID.
• This internship can range anywhere from 20-30 (at max) hours per week.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with social media management tools and analytics.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier Pro or similar design software.
