Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the café's Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently, handling cash register transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with their experience.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; assist in restocking as needed.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to handle peak hours effectively while maintaining quality service.
- Uphold café policies regarding food handling and safety practices to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance knowledge of coffee products and improve sales techniques.
Experience
- Previous experience in a café or retail environment is preferred but not required; we are willing to train enthusiastic candidates.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales tracking is beneficial.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions and managing cash register operations effectively.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is an advantage; training will be provided as necessary.
