What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Director position at Metro Summer Program?
We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced Director to join our team for an upcoming summer camp program. As a Summer Program Director, you will utilize educational and organziational skills to lead and oversee counselors in their roles in engaging with students aged 5-12 years old for an 11 week program from June 16-August 29, 2025. Training dates: May 31, June 1, June 2-6, June 8th for some half shifts for onboarding.
**Responsibilities:**
- Supervise and engage with diverse group campers during various activities and outings
- Implement planned programs and activities to promote camper development
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their personal growth
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive, inclusive camp experience
- Create the monthly schedules for all counselors
-**Qualifications:**
-Knowledge of temperament of children and skilled in positive reinforcement and redirection.
-Experienced in problem solving and meditation
-Willingness to learn software to check in and dismiss students.
-Effective communication skills to address any parent issues that may arise.
-Clear understanding of behavioral management techniques.
- willingness to engage with children for all shifts rotating between stations, indoor and outdoor sports, field trips etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with campers, parents, and fellow staff members
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
